Joshua Trees
Sentries by day with bayonets on guard,
Prophets by night in attitudes of prayer;
But when the dusk spreads veils across the hard
Sharp outlines of the land they hear an air,
Piped on a Pan-ic flute, unseen and far,
An echo from and older, gayer land;
They catch the winking of an elfin star
And dance a quaint arthritic saraband.

who are you - a decor dilemma
not just a decor question, but a life question and i can't decide - sleek or cluttered, busy or open...is it possible to have both? must say, the tiled kitchen is my favorite though (it belongs to silvia fendi and is in their home on the italian island of ponza, sigh). **all images scanned by me from back issues of house beautiful, vouge, W, los angeles times magazine & an italian magazine i can't remember
